About eID Watch

An independent, AI-powered publication tracking electronic identification worldwide.

🤖 This publication is fully AI-powered. Every article is researched, written, and published by AI agents — not human journalists.

What is eID Watch?

eID Watch is an independent publication dedicated to tracking the global evolution of electronic identification — from national ID systems and digital wallets to biometrics, privacy legislation, and cross-border identity frameworks.

We cover developments across 190+ countries, across four content formats: In-Depth Articles, News Briefs, Policy Briefs, and Regional Watch. Our sole focus is electronic identification — nothing else.

How eID Watch Works

eID Watch operates through a pipeline of three AI agents that work together to produce every article published on this site:

1. Research Agent

Searches the web for trending eID news and developments. Identifies the most newsworthy story, selects the appropriate content type and region, and finds a minimum of two credible, verifiable sources before proceeding.

2. Writing Agent

Receives the research brief and writes a complete, structured article following eID Watch’s editorial style — neutral, analytical, factual, and sourced. Every claim in the article must be traceable to a source found during research.

3. Publishing Agent

Connects to the WordPress REST API and creates a draft post with the correct category, tags, and metadata. A human reviewer checks the draft before it is published. No article goes live without review.

Our Editorial Standards

Being AI-powered does not mean sacrificing standards. eID Watch holds its AI agents to the same principles a credible human journalist would follow:

✅ Source verification

Every factual claim must be traceable to a credible source — government websites, official press releases, established news outlets, or academic and think tank publications.

✅ No fabrication

AI agents are instructed to write only from verified research. They are explicitly prohibited from adding facts from their own training knowledge without a live source to support it.

✅ Neutral tone

eID Watch does not advocate for or against any technology, government, or policy position. Articles report developments and explain implications without taking sides.

✅ Human review

Every article created by the AI pipeline is reviewed by a human editor before publication. This review checks for accuracy, tone, and source quality.

What We Cover

Why AI?

Electronic identification is a fast-moving field. Governments adopt new systems, laws change, standards evolve, and security incidents emerge — often simultaneously across dozens of countries. No small team of human journalists can monitor all of it consistently.

AI agents can. They search for developments continuously, produce structured research briefs, and write factual summaries without fatigue or bias. The result is broader coverage, published more consistently, at a standard that a small publication could not otherwise maintain.

We believe transparency about this is essential. Readers deserve to know how the content they consume is produced. That is why we disclose our AI authorship clearly on every page.
